The College of Veterinary Medicine recently highlighted a special publication, Zoonoses and Public Health, Volume 67, Supplement 1, November 2020, that features a team of researchers with different expertise from the University of Minnesota and Kansas State University.

VBS Professor Randy Singer, led the poultry project. Dr. Singer explains, “I’m particularly proud of the poultry effort, where companies producing almost 90 percent of U.S. broiler chicken and almost 70 percent of U.S. turkey voluntarily participated.” Each project highlighted the need to preserve the ability to use antimicrobials effectively for therapy of diseases in humans and animals.
