Biography

Summary

Dr. Young is an Iowa native who completed her undergraduate and professional veterinary medicine degrees at Iowa State University in Ames, IA. Following graduation, she pursued an equine internship at Oklahoma State University and was fortunate to stay for an Equine Surgical Residency in Stillwater, OK. She joined the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine faculty following her residency in 2019. She successfully achieved board certification in large animal surgery in 2021. Dr. Young is part of the Large Animal Surgery service at the University, providing service to clients, caring for patients, and simultaneously teaching senior veterinary students during their rotations in the Piper Equine and Large Animal Hospitals.
