Biography
Summary
Abby has been an integral part of the Gross Veterinary Anatomy team for over 10 years. She currently manages the anatomy lab and is involved in teaching small and large animal anatomy to the freshman veterinary students. Abby performs many functions, but most notably during the academic year, she performs prosections (example dissections) on specimens that the students utilize during their anatomy sessions, and helps answer student questions during labs. She also played a crucial role in developing instructional dissection videos, for dog and cat specimens, which have been made public on the veterinary anatomy website (vanat.cvm.umn.edu). These videos have proven to be great resources for veterinary students at the U of MN and at other teaching institutions. Abby is also involved in an undergraduate course that teaches companion animal anatomy, and developed the lab guide for the dissection of cat and chicken specimens that is used in the course’s lab sessions. Abby works hard to ensure that students have the best possible learning experience in their animal anatomy courses here at the University of Minnesota!
