CVM Senior Associate Dean of Academic and Student Affairs and VBS Associate Professor Erin Burton was recently honored with the Outstanding Faculty Award at the 2025 Minnesota Veterinary Medical Association (MVMA) Annual Conference January 29-February 1, in Minneapolis, Minnesota.The award recognizes a College of Veterinary Medicine faculty member who provides outstanding service, gives their time and talent to the veterinary profession, is a leader that make a difference to the profession, and is a dedicated contributor to organized veterinary medicine.  “Dr. Burton is deeply committed to supporting students in every facet of their journey. She's closely involved with the MVMA, including her work on the scholarship award committee and her effort in fundraising for student scholarships,” MVMA President Dr. Ann Brownlee said during the award presentation. “Dr. Erin Burton exemplifies the qualities of an outstanding faculty member through her leadership innovation and unwavering commitment to veterinary education and student success.” Check out the CVM Profiles Spring 2015 issue for the full story. Foster-Hartnett, Dawn

VBS Associate Professor, Dawn Foster-Hartnett was one of three CVM faculty members to be honored with this special UMN service award. Dr. Foster-Hartnett has been instrumental in leading the department's undergraduate educational efforts, contributing to the professional DVM curriculum, and participating in graduate and continuing education programs. VBS Chair Kent Reed, who nominated her for this award stated, “...Dr. Foster-Hartnett has demonstrated outstanding collegiality, mentoring fellow faculty and advancing our shared educational goals. Her impact on teaching, curriculum development, and student success makes her a truly deserving candidate for this award.” See CVM Profiles, Spring 2025 issue for details.
