Biography
Summary
Dr. Walters is an Assistant Professor of Comparative Anesthesia and Pain Medicine. He received his Bachelor of Science in Animal Science with a Pre-veterinary emphasis and a minor in German studies in 2013 and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2018 from the University of Minnesota. He completed a rotating equine internship at Equine Sports Medicine and Surgery in Weatherford, Texas in 2019. He then returned to his alma mater where he completed a residency in Comparative Anesthesiology and Pain Management and became board-certified in 2022 and was hired on to stay afterwards.
Dr. Walters has a strong clinical interest in cardiothoracic anesthesia, management of the critical patient, regional anesthetic techniques, and equine anesthesia. He is RECOVER CPR certified.

Research Interests
Dr. Walters is interested in developing adjunctive treatments to better the management of equine osteoarthritis. He is also interested in developing new loco-regional techniques for equine patients.
