Fellowship opportunity

The College of Veterinary Medicine and College of Food, Agricultural, and Natural Resource Sciences has partnered with Acceligen to offer two graduate fellowship opportunities. Acceligen is a company that specializes in precision breeding that seeks to pursue solutions to global food security, an urgent issue as populations rise, cropland shrinks, and the climate changes. Two graduate fellowships, one in Animal Science and one in Veterinary Medicine, have received funding through the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation for 5-year fellowships for women from Sub-saharan Africa. The fellowships are designed to work on a project related to introgression of genes into native dairy cattle  populations including milk yield, tick resistance, and heat tolerance.
