Dave Rankin, DVM, MS, DACVAA

Dr. Rankin joined the faculty of the UMN CVM in March of 2025. Originally from Nebraska, he attended Creighton University and then Kansas State University for his DVM. After residency in comparative anesthesia at Washington State University, he was a faculty member at Mississippi State University and Purdue University. He then started the anesthesia service at the Wisconsin Veterinary Referral Center in Waukesha, Wisconsin. The last 18 years he spent as a faculty member at his alma mater, Kansas State University. His interests revolve around peri-operative medicine and pain management, and preparing students for the rigors of practice once they graduate.
