Our mission

Our focus is building a globally diverse and inclusive community to improve the health of animals, humans, and the environment. This will be accomplished by discovering and disseminating new knowledge and skills, educating current and future veterinarians and scientists, and providing innovative veterinary services.

The College of Veterinary Medicine’s 2016-2021 Strategic Plan was created with input from faculty, staff, students, alumni, donors, and external partners, and will guide our day-to-day decisions and work that we do.

Meet our Interim Dean: Laura Molgaard, DVM

Interim Dean Laura Molgaard

Dr. Laura Molgaard has been the Interim Dean at the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine since August of 2019. 

After developing and overseeing the creation of both veterinary assistant and veterinary medical curricula in Minnesota, Molgaard is now helping to set best practices for veterinary education on a global level. As an educational administrator, she creates programs and leads development of new initiatives, giving her an even broader reach.
